By donating to NFESH, you are investing in your country and your community. We believe that to put an end to senior hunger, we must also work to prevent it in the first place. Your investment will help fund NFESH’s priority areas – all of which are critical to achieving our goals:

NFESH is actively engaged in commissioning research from America’s foremost authorities in the fields of aging, healthcare, and senior hunger. We are conducting our own in-house research and analysis on salient issues that either have or will have an impact on an aging population and the prevention of senior hunger.

We will conduct “Thought Leadership Labs” and invite thought-leaders in every sector to come together to help us “imagine” the best solutions and innovations to end senior hunger community by community.

Then we will take what we have learned to local communities and have them come to the table with us as we quash senior hunger “in local test markets.” Bringing ALL interested parties together in common cause and common action will be the goal of our CUASH™ model. CUASH™: Communities United Against Senior Hunger will be our market place of ideas and solutions’ testing ground.

Shining a light on the magnitude and seriousness of the problem of senior hunger in America and the lifecycle that contributes to it and hampers efforts to end it might be the most important activity NFESH undertakes. Through our electronic publication “Rooftops” and other strategic communication about NFESH’s national and local impact, we are raising national awareness and bringing more partners, investors and volunteers to the table.

We are the National Foundation to End Senior Hunger and we intend to live up to our name. We’d like you to be a part of it. It’s your community and your country too.

The Need

The Jack & Eleanor Borden Fund exists because Jewish seniors need our help. They are facing the decision of giving up keeping kosher or going hungry, because their communities do not have the resources to care for them. This cannot stand. We must do something for these Jewish seniors, we owe it to them.

The Solution

When you contribute to the Jack & Eleanor Borden Fund, your donation will be used to fund grant awards to non-profit community organizations working to ensure that Jewish seniors have access to the kosher nutrition they need to remain independent and healthy members of their community. By awarding the Jack & Eleanor Borden Fund grants, NFESH provides local programs the support necessary to help these Jewish seniors.

NFESH (pronounced neh-fesh) is a Hebrew word that means soul or life force, or the obligation to save a life in jeopardy. We take that obligation seriously.
